It’s The Little Things…
We all hear the saying “it’s the little things.” But do we actually ever stop and acknowledge the little things?! These past couple weeks I have been preoccupied with keeping on top of this 35mm challenge I had given myself to get more comfortable shooting with a fixed focal length. I kept writing down places that I was interested in checking out. But then I realized that there were great things in my own world that I wanted to take more time to truly see.
Of course, I still want to conquer that list I made but this week it’s all about the little things that make a BIG difference to me.

35 Day // 35mm Challenge: Week 2
Well here we are… another week and some more photos. I will be completely honest, I have slacked off a little. First week, I was all into taking my camera everywhere. But then the second week came and things became busy at work. Even taking pictures at work for work. I would bring my camera with me but would forget to take a photo or really just didn’t feel like taking one… Oye!
So what does this mean?
Did I already fail my own challenge that I made for myself to do? At first, I wanted to say yes. You start off great but then you don’t finish. I think there is something to be said about that.
People go through distractions all the time. Pick up a hobby one day and then drop it the next week. I think the important thing is that we are trying things. Being curious. You might be into painting one week and then next week you want to take piano lessons.
The point I am trying to make is don’t put so much pressure on yourself for exploring one hobby one week and being totally into something else the next week. The point is that you are doing things. Keeping the creativity vibes flowing whichever avenue you feel like that week. Stay curious. Try new things. Because if you like them, you will go back to them when you want to. Now where is my camera?!
 So stay curious all. :)

35 Day // 35mm Challenge: Week 1
So what happens when you decide to take a photo everyday for 35 days? Well, I can’t speak for everyone but for me personally, A LOT.
You don’t realize how much you do in a week, how much things can change within a week…shoot…24 hrs. It’s pretty fascinating.
How this all came about was I had purchased a 35mm lens over the holiday and realized after a week of having it, I only took one photo with it. Uhhh…
So I decided to give myself a challenge, 35 days… a picture a day only using my 35mm. Maybe kinda cheesy but a lot has been happening and I’ve been pretty happy that I have had some sort of memory of it as the days go by.
To doing the generic photo of your pet, learning manual mode in the office while renovating, having an obsession with a Thai restaurant’s font, having one of the biggest conversations with your mom, being lazy and taking a picture of a butterfingers, celebrating a friends birthday, to meeting someone that you look forward to talking to everyday. A lot can happen and it’s great to see what has happened in just 7 days.
There may be nothing special about these photos to an outsider but each photo represents something very special to me. Until next week.

Lincoln Street Art Park - Detroit
A couple weeks back, I came across a picture posted from The Heidelberg Project  of this bright & unique pattern under the bridge near Trumbull & Stanley. They had mentioned it was just around the corner from Lincoln Street Art Park. I had never heard of it before, looked it up and was really intrigued by the sculpture park. Here are some pics.
Definitely worth checking out whether you’re near or far.
